After 5 successful years in Antwerp
South, we’re expanding to Berchem with Café Betty. Expect Andy coffee ánd
afterwork drinks, homemade sourdough pastries, good vibes and music. On August
30th, we’re throwing an opening party where everyone’s welcome from 10 AM to 8
PM for drinks and bites. To celebrate, our friends from Orbit Fried Chicken
will be there, serving up delicious burgers for our first visitors.

After 5 years in Antwerp South, we felt the
urge to grow Andy even bigger and found the perfect spot in Berchem. The new
place will follow a similar concept to Andy and we’ll be opening our doors
bright and early at 7:30 AM to serve that first morning rush.

Café Betty will have its own identity too
though. On Fridays and Saturdays, we’ll stay open until 8 PM for an aperitif
moment, offering a small menu with carefully chosen snacks. It’s not our
goal to become a traditional bar, but we’ve noticed that people enjoy a few
extra hours on the weekend to relax, so we want to provide that.

On top of that, last month we opened our
own sourdough bakery in Borgerhout, which will eventually supply all our
venues with fresh, homemade pastries. We’re also opening a shop connected
to the bakery next spring. And we’re not done yet, there’s another new project
coming at the end of October. Stay tuned!

In Berchem, we’ve taken over the space
from Café Het Been, which had to close due to the owner’s health issues. As
a tribute to the café’s past, we decided to name our new place Café Betty, a
subtle wink to the history of the location.

That said, we’ve completely transformed
the space. We stripped everything out and brought
in fresh, new elements. The bar and furniture were custom-designed by Antwerp
designer Nick Bal, whose workshop is right down the street. For the finishing
touches, we used recycled plastic materials from the Brussels-based company
Albatros.

We’re stepping out of the café and into the night. This year, you’ll find us at Us By Night, where we’re
serving up coffee the Andy way — strong, smooth, and with plenty of soul.

Us by Night is more than just afestival—it’s a three-night theme park for creatives, built from scratch withina concrete warehouse the size of a football field. Featuring three stages, a
club, a bustling night market, and more, the event gathers over 60 world-class
speakers, live artists, and music to create an atmosphere overflowing with
inspiration.

We’ve set up a full Andy bar right at the heart of the festival, so you can refuel with your favourite brew between talks, panels, and inspiration overload. And because we believe coffee is just one part of the vibe, we’re bringing more than beans.

Our DJ booth is fully curated by Nicolas Kerstens of Nowadays Magazine, whose ear for atmosphere is second to none. We’re proud to be part of one of the most inspiring creative festivals around — and we’re bringing our A-game. So whether you're a die-hard design head, a late-night thinker, or just in it for the music and espresso, come find us.

It’s hard to believe it’s been nine years already. Nine years of early mornings,
espresso shots, breakfast rushes, sunny terrace moments, and countless chats
across the counter. Butchers Coffee has been more than just a café, it’s been
our home, our creative playground, and a place where friendships were brewed as
often as coffee.

Now, we’re wrapping up this unforgettable chapter — right where it all began.

As bittersweet as it feels, the time has come to say goodbye to Butchers in its
current form. Before we turn the page, we want to soak in every last moment
with you. Swing by for one final coffee, your go-to sando, or a seat in the sun
on the terrace. Let’s share one more story, one more laugh, one more memory.

To truly mark the occasion, we’re throwing a Bye Bye Butchers Party on Saturday 13/09

. We’d love nothing more than to celebrate with the people who’ve made this journey so
special — you. Expect good vibes, familiar faces, and a proper send-off.

But don’t wander too far… this is goodbye, but not the end. Something new is
already brewing behind the scenes, and we can’t wait to share what’s next. Stay
tuned — we promise it’ll be worth it.
